How to assemble boxes for transporting dishes
To prevent the box from opening during transportation, be sure to tape the bottom several times. You can also put a sheet of cardboard inside the box to reinforce the bottom. You can also put several layers of cloth or towels on the bottom to soften the bottom.
How to properly pack dishes
Rules for packing dishes when moving (transporting):
- Prepare packaging materials: boxes, bubble wrap, cardboard or rags, and tape.
- Stack plates, bowls, and saucers , wrapping each item with bubble wrap, cardboard, or rags. Then place the stack in a box.
- Wrap cups and mugs in bubble wrap and place in a box, additionally protecting each item with cardboard or a cloth.
- Also wrap the glasses in bubble wrap and carefully stack them in a single layer in the box (do not put anything on top or under them). The glasses should lie flat in the box, not stand up.
- Fold cutlery (forks, spoons, knives) into bundles and secure with a rubber band, thread or string. Then wrap in paper or stretch film.
- Wrap pots and pans with paper, and their glass lids with bubble wrap.
- After folding the dishes into the box, fill all the free space with paper or cloth.
