Poon Hill Trek Itinerary 3 Days – A Short and Beautiful Himalayan Adventure

Last week, I went on the famous Poon Hill trek, and it turned out to be one of the most refreshing short treks I’ve ever done. If you are looking for a simple yet stunning Himalayan experience, this is the perfect trail. The Poon Hill trek itinerary 3 days is short, sweet, and full of beauty. You get to walk through lovely forests, stay in peaceful villages, and watch the sunrise over the snow-capped mountains. We didn’t need a long holiday or tough planning — just a few free days and the love for the outdoors.

I had a few friends with me, and we were all excited to get away from the busy city life for a while. This trek gave us the fresh air, mountain views, and friendly smiles we were looking for.

Day 01: Drive from Pokhara to Nayapul and Trek to Hile

We started early in the morning from Pokhara. It took us about 1.5 hours by jeep to reach Nayapul. The drive was smooth, and we were all in a good mood, chatting and laughing.

From Nayapul, we began walking. The trail was easy and passed through small villages, rice fields, and green hills. It felt so calm to walk beside the river and wave at the local kids on the way. After a few hours of walking, we reached Hile, a small village with lovely teahouses. We had a warm dinner and rested for the night. The mountain air felt fresh and peaceful.

Day 02: Trek from Hile to Ghorepani

After a good sleep and breakfast, we started our second day. This was a longer walk, but we were ready for the adventure. The trail took us through stone steps and rhododendron forests. We passed by Ulleri, a village with great views, and slowly made our way up.

We stopped for tea breaks and enjoyed the silence of the forest. Birds were singing, and the path was full of greenery. By afternoon, we reached Ghorepani, a beautiful village surrounded by mountains. The air was cold and clean. We could already see the peaks from our teahouse. We had dinner and went to bed early because the next morning, we planned to see the sunrise from Poon Hill.

Day 03: Hike to Poon Hill, Trek Back to Nayapul, and Drive to Pokhara

We woke up before sunrise and put on our warm clothes. The hike to Poon Hill took about 45 minutes. It was still dark when we started, but by the time we reached the top, the sky was starting to turn orange and pink.

Then came the moment we were waiting for — the sun slowly rising behind the mountains. We saw Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, and Machapuchare shining in the golden light. It was magical. We stood there quietly, enjoying the view and taking photos.

After breakfast in Ghorepani, we began our journey back. We walked down to Nayapul, passing through the same lovely paths. Our jeep picked us up at Nayapul and brought us back to Pokhara by evening. We were tired but happy, filled with memories.

Final Thoughts

The Poon Hill trek itinerary 3 days is perfect if you want to see the Himalayas in a short time. It’s not too hard, and you still get amazing views, peaceful trails, and friendly village life. We loved every step of the way and would recommend it to anyone looking for a short trekking escape in Nepal.

If you want a quick adventure with big rewards, this is the trek to do.
