Among the popular trekking routes, the Goecha La trek gains significant attention, leading you to breathtaking views of the Kanchenjunga peak. Because spring is a transitional season, the trails are less crowded, allowing for a more intimate experience with nature. Camping in spring also presents its perks. With moderate temperatures and lush greenery, it’s the perfect time to set up camp by the serene Khecheopalri Lake. As you trek, the gentle breezes and blooming wildflowers create an enchanting atmosphere, making your journey feel almost ethereal. Resorts and campsites often fill quickly during summer, especially around popular areas like Yuksom and Pelling, so booking in advance is judicious. For camping enthusiasts, consider venturing to more off-beat locales, such as Dzongri, where tranquillity reigns, and the starry nights are awe-inspiring. If you’re an adventurer with a taste for solitude, the monsoon months offer a unique experience. Sikkim receives heavy rainfall from July to August, which may deter some from planning outdoor activities; however, those who embrace the monsoon are rewarded with lush greenery and a serenade of cascading waterfalls. While trekking during this season can be challenging due to slippery trails and increased humidity, it also reveals breathtaking scenes of rain-washed landscapes. Popular treks like the Kangchendzonga Base Camp Trek become stunningly lush and vibrant. Just be prepared for the occasional downpour, and ensure to carry waterproof gear.
